Dr. Dorothy Travis Moore is the founder of Learning First an 501(c) (3) organization specializing in student achievement, educator support, and leadership.

Experienced in education with over 35 years in academics. This luminary’s mission is to cultivate teachers with tools and support relevant to helping students increase their learning abilities and advance their knowledge in today’s educational environment with high achievement and standards to become thought leaders, engineers, creatives, and inventors. She assists with helping educators identify low performance and advise them how to increase the student’s academic potential.

Since relocating to Texas Dr. Moore started Girls Who Win a collective to train young girls ages 12-15 in the areas of leadership, career exploration, social skills, etiquette and financial literacy,

Moving Students from Potential to Performance gives a firsthand account of Dr. Moore’s journey as a founder of Ceria M. Travis Academy. Travis Academy was specifically for inner-city students in Milwaukee who were deemed at-risk by all measurements. Her school provided them with their last chance in the educational system before they were discarded all together. Her heart-warming stories are meant to shed light on children who are troubled, neglected and abused but with education and love was able to become well-functioning members of society.
